Matthias Dezes is a member of the Executive Committee of Corporate Group MALEKI. Besides his business activities, he has a lectureship for corporate communications at the International School of Management (ISM) in Frankfurt am Main. He is an active member of the German Association of Public Relations (DPRG). One of his key topics there is the influence of fake news and social bots on public option.
Matthias Dezes is a trained business journalist and has more than 20 years of experience on PR mandates with a high relevance for top executives. Following, an overall view about his positions and some of his most relevant mandates:
1995 – 2000: PR consultant to a leading, international carmaker in the fields of CEO communications and issues management
2000 – 2002: Financial Times Deutschland, editor in the banking section
2002 – 2006: Citibank Privatkunden AG (today: Targobank), press officer; annual press conference, CEO communications, PR campaigns, governance of PR and media agencies
2006 – 2011: Financial Dynamics (today: FTI), PR advisory of leading, international finance companies plus advisory on special situations such as crises and transactions, e.g. advisory of an international energy group on the re-sale of its German divisions
2011: Changed to work in the legal industry and became Manager Corporate Communications, first at Latham & Watkins, then at Taylor Wessing
Since 2016 he is a freelance PR consultant with an emphasis on banks, asset management, private equity and law firms
Matthias Dezes was born in 1966 and studied political science, American studies and law at the universities in Bonn, Passau (Bavaria) and Seattle. He graduated from the University of Bonn in 1994.
